Adopt a Less Adoptable Pet!

Adopt-A-Less-Adoptable-Pet Week 2012
This week is Pet finder's "Adopt a Less Adoptable" pet week and we are celebrating it for a number of reasons, reason number 1 being it's the right thing to do! There are so many loving cats and dogs and other animals in the shelters that are in need of a loving home but people don't want to adopt them because of their special conditions. This is horrible just to think about-- let alone say--but it is true.

Shelters and rescue groups have a harder time finding homes for:

I don't understand why people are this way! Just because we're different does NOT mean we don't deserve the love that other animals are getting. No matter WHAT condition an animal is in(blind, deaf, old, all black, FIV+, different, etc) does NOT mean they don't deserve love. You can provide love, right now. Because love is the strongest thing EVER. And these animals need it more than anything else. They have love in their hearts and are reaching their paws out to humans and asking for one simple thing: a loving home. So please, please, adopt a less adoptable pet--it will be the best decision you have ever made.

Take Traveler for instance. He was born with special needs as a kitten, because he had some behavioural problems, but we still love him! He is the sweetest and playfulest cat our humans could ask for, and they are so happy be his humans and we are so happy to have him as our fellow friend!

Traveler as a kitten
We just have one last thing to say before we go, and that is this:We believe that one day, there will be no such thing as a "less adoptable" pet. One day all pets will be equally loved and not have any problem being adopted out to loving homes. One day, we can make that happen. And it all starts with people who are willing to adopt a 'less adoptable pet', so it can be an adopted pet.

Go to your local animal shelter and do what you can to help out pets with special needs. You can also donate to the Pet Finder Foundation or other rescue groups in your area who are doing what they can to save  less adoptable pets.

How I love YOU: Restored!

Thanks a million to Jan at Jan's Funny Farm for saving our accidently deleted "How I Love You" Post and bringing it back to life! Thank you Jan, Thank you!

There are countless ways I show my human I love her, but here are a few I wanted to say

Sherlock
~Giving you your morning head bonk or nose tap so you're on your way for the day

~Jumping up on your lap with a comforting purr to give when you have had a tough day

~Reminding you to give me my daily dose of catnip (or else!)

~Having the first say (or meow) even in the middle of the night when everyone is trying to sleep

~Walking in front of you to guide your way on a busy day

~Being your cat and putting lots of smiles on your face

~Letting you scoop out my litter box with such grace

~Getting into things I'm 'not allowed' to, but getting away with it,too!

She won't mind I'm in her clean clothes basket!

~Reminding you that I run the house, but will follow (some) of the safety rules you give me because I love you (even if that means not jumping up on the 'fridge).

~Always leaving you 'wowed' by the things I do for you!

~Always greeting you in a friendly way and having a nice thing to say
You did not meet my daily catnip requirement. Considert this look your last warning
~Giving you the "Puss in Boots" eyes

~Snuggling up in your lap when you're reading a book so I have the full attention

~Sitting on top of your books so you can't read them

~Letting you give me kisses and giving you some too

~And even taking my pictures

~Always being here for you to give me my tummy rub

~Reminding you to give me lots of treats too

~Being the sweetest cat I can be, since my human happens to be you!

Wordless Wednesday

Miss Kitty is on TV (literally!)

Mr. T is taking time to smell the roses

Poppy Vic

We are heartbroken and so sad  today, we just heard that Ann's husband, Poppy Vic, has passed away.
He fought his battle with cancer bravely, and we are sending our purrs and prayers for  Ann and  her family. We are sending purrs of comfort and prayers to Ann and her family and lots of love and comforting thoughts.

Meow Like Pirate Day

It's Meow Like a Pirate Day, and the three of us have dressed up like pirates!
Argh, Maties! Let's Meow and let's meow like Pirates!
Traveler has a bow-tie and paw patch
Ash has little bitty boots and a hat and eye patch

And Sherlock has a pirate hat.
We didn't want to dress up so Mom went on Photobucket and edited our pics
(hope they aren't too tacky!)
HAPPY MEOW LIKE A PIRATE DAY!!!

(Almost) Silly Sunday

Today we, Ash and I, did just (a few) little silly things, and had some fun with a purse....

Who are you?
Not very talkative, huh? You want to play the silent game? Fine.I don't see you.

See? I've got myself a new pal. This here ribbon-stringy thing. It's my new best friend! Aren't you jelous?(P.s I can still see the purse, but it doesn't know that I'm staring at it because I've got razor sharp eyes.)

Ok, fine. You win. This game is getting a little boring. Now you're back to being MY purse again. End of story
Until..........................
The purse was alway mine, Traveler. Back away. Now.

Like I care. I mean, the purse was always a granny one.
I'm back to my string now.
