Live STRONG Day

Today is Live STRONG day and we are celebrating it with a special tribute to the Mom's grandma Leona, (1929-1996) who fought a brave battle against breast cancer. We are also celebrating it to honor all our friends and loved ones who are battling cancer, or who have passed away due to the evil C. One day there will be a cure for cancer and we will LIVE STRONG forever! We are sad to say that she is not here for us to cuddle up and purrr on her lap, but she lives on in our hearts forever and we know that she would be proud to have us as her grand-cats. We love you and miss you! We want to honour all those who have fought against cancer and continue to live STRONG on their journey in life. You are special, amazing, and words cannot express our honour and admiration for each and every one of you. For those who fought the battle against cancer and have crossed the bridge, we want to say that you won. You did not loose. Death cannot ever take away your love that you had for us and we have for you. Your memories and love are here and do not fade. They grow stronger with each passing day, and though my tears may appear, one day a smile will shine on my face as we share a hug in heaven. We WILL meet again. But until then, I will wait.
Your hope and love and courage through your journey lives on in our hearts. And one day, we will meet again.
We don't have a photo for Grandma (yet) but when mom goes through the photo album with us, we will post dear Grandma Leona's beautiful picture.

Cancer is so limited...
It cannot cripple love.
It cannot shatter hope.
It cannot corrode faith.
It cannot eat away peace.
It cannot destroy confidence.
It cannot kill friendship.
It cannot shut out memories.
It cannot silence courage.
It cannot reduce eternal life.
It cannot conquer the Spirit.

  4. What a lovely and heartfelt tribute to your mom's grandma.

We look forward to the day when “cancer” is just a word for something that used to exist. We join you Living Strong today, and every day.

  7. What a beeyootiful post! The Human lost her daddy waaaaay too soon, almost thirty years ago. But recently she's had friends and family who are brilliantly surviving, some have beaten the disease for years and years and years. Research funding really has saved lives--we all need to keep making sure good, new treatments keep coming by making sure funds are devoted to continued research!

  10. We agree completely.

Our papa fights every day to save the lives of people with this disease. Hopefully some day his job will not be needed....we pray for a cure.
